Dates & Deadlines
Remember what happened when you turned in your term paper late? You don't want that to happen to your application.
Be sure to submit application materials on or before the following dates to ensure receipt and avoid processing delays. If you are applying to William & Mary to be part of the Class of 2028, submit your Common Application by January 5. The deadline is officially midnight in your time zone and applies to the student’s actual application.
Supplemental materials including transcripts, test scores and recommendations may still be submitted after that January 5 deadline.
William & Mary is generally willing to grant an application deadline extension when a student or a school is impacted by circumstances beyond their control. Deadline extension requests may be emailed to admission@wm.edu.
Freshmen Deadlines and Decision Dates
*Note: Given the delays in receiving FAFSA data for the 2024-25 year, William & Mary will be working to ensure that anyone experiencing challenges with filing the FAFSA will still be given full consideration of financial aid eligibility, even if the FAFSA is received after the published deadlines.
Early Decision I
November 1 - application deadline: applications must be submitted onlineNovember 15 - FAFSA* and CSS Profile priority deadline for receiving a financial aid estimate

Two Weeks from Receipt of Decision Letter - enrollment deadline: enrollment deposits must be submitted electronically or postmarked by this date

Fall Enrollment
March 1 - application, FAFSA and CSS deadline: applications must be submitted online
March 28 - mid-term grades due - To submit your current grades on the Common Application, please use the Mid-term Report in the Additional Forms section under Assign Recommenders.
Early May - decisions will be emailed to students
May 15 - enrollment deadline: enrollment deposits must be submitted electronically or postmarked by this date
Spring Enrollment
October 2 - application deadline: submit Common Application for Transfer onlineNovember 15 - Submit FAFSA and CSS Profile
October 28 - Official transcripts, Mid-term Report, and College Report due
Mid-November - decisions will be emailed to students
