Small School... Big Minds

Eleven students and two faculty members are awarded Fulbright Scholarships.

William & Mary...a Fulbright future.

William & Mary's Fulbright application-to-award rate was the highest among the top research institutions in the nation.

Since 2000, a total of 50 William & Mary students and alumni have received Fulbright scholarships. Since 1984, 36 William & Mary faculty members have received Fulbright grants.

Fulbright Scholars are selected on the basis of academic and professional achievement as well as on demonstrated leadership potential in their fields. The scholarships fund one year of study or teaching for each of the scholars.

The Fulbright Scholarship Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and operates in more than 150 countries across the globe. More than 1,300 students and 800 faculty from the U.S. will travel abroad for the 2007-08 academic year through the Fulbright programs.

In 2007 students from William & Mary will travel to a wide range of places, including Hong Kong, Romania, Oman, Germany, Spain and Hungary.
