Costs & Financial Aid
An Ivy League education at a public school price.
As a public university, William & Mary works hard to keep the cost of our exceptional education affordable, and we commit our resources to need-based aid.
We have emailed notifications of revised awards to all entering students. All further notifications of revisions will also be sent via email.
We will begin emailing notifications of awards to returning students starting on June 26th. If you do not receive your notification during our first round, please be patient; we have hundreds of students to award, and not all will be notified as part of our first group. You will receive your award notification as soon as we are able to process your aid.
* The FAFSA Deadline is February 15th for students entering in the Fall 2009 term and March 15th for returning students. *
If you have what it takes to be a W&M student, our Financial Aid Office will help you find a way to pay for it. Through a combination of financial aid options —including grants, loans and federal work-study —we'll make sure you graduate with as little debt as possible.
The College of William and Mary has a long-standing commitment to meet 100 percent of the demonstrated financial need of undergraduate Virginians. Gateway William and Mary is a financial aid plan that goes beyond this commitment. Undergraduate Virginians whose families earn less than $40,000 per year may qualify for these funds. Qualifying students will be given a financial aid package that covers most, if not all of their expenses through grants. Learn more about Gateway William and Mary.
Please note that there are many financial aid scams. Please read anything you receive very carefully, especially if it appears to come from W&M or be related to W&M. Never hesitate to contact our office if you are unsure about anything. Also remember that you should NEVER pay to receive financial aid or scholarships.
