How to Make Specific Bequests to the
Adams Garden in your Last Will and Testament

Here are some examples of how to do this:

You are encouraged to discuss your intentions with the William and Mary Gift Planning Office at the earliest stage and to engage your own legal counsel in the drafting of your Last Will and Testament.

Types of Specific Bequests
(1) I give, devise, and bequeath ____% of the remaining assets of my estate to the College of William and Mary Foundation, a charitable corporation, to be used for the continuing support of the Adams Garden, a holding of the College.

(2) I give, devise, and bequeath the sum of $____ to the College of William and Mary Foundation, a charitable corporation, to be used for the continuing support of the Adams Garden, a holding of the College.

(3) I give, devise, and bequeath my residence at ____ to the College of William and Mary Foundation, a charitable corporation, to be used for the continuing support of the Adams Garden, a holding of the College.

Residuary Bequest
(4) I give, devise, and bequeath all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate to the College of William and Mary Foundation, a charitable corporation, to be used for the continuing support of the Adams Garden, a holding of the College.

Other Purposes
(5) There are a variety of permanent endowments that may be established through your bequest to provide support for the Adams Garden in perpetuity. These endowments may carry your name or the name of someone you may wish to honor or memorialize.

Some of these options require minimum funding levels, so it is especially important that you consult with the William and Mary Gift Planning Office at (757) 221-1004.

General questions can be sent to gifts@wm.edu or (866) 448-3296.
