About Act 2 |
|
Advancing Creative Technology (ACT2) will achieve a strategic technology integration vision to produce highly competent teachers who can seamlessly integrate technology into subject matter content areas by designing, implementing, and assessing authentic, student-centered learning activities in diverse educational settings. Achievement of this vision requires systemic improvement in three primary technology goal areas: faculty proficiency, institutional preparedness, and quality clinical experiences. A critical feature of ACT 2 is the creation of five Technology Partnership Schools to ensure that all preservice teachers have intensive, technology-rich clinical experiences. The project targets low-income, low-achieving schools to address equity concerns and the digital divide. Consortium partners include the College of William and Mary, and the schools of Williamsburg-James City County, Charles City County, and York County. Additional supporters are Dell Computers, Inc., the Jesse Ball duPont Foundation, Virginia's Department of Education, and State Council for Higher Education. |
