ADA/Rehabilitation Act - Disability Access and Accommodations

Accommodations and Disability Access

The Office of Diversity & Equal Opportunity makes official university determinations regarding accommodations for employees with disabilities. Employees or applicants for employment with questions about disability access should contact the Office at 757-221-2615. Refer to the Employee Reasonable Accommodation Policy and Procedure for more information.

The Office also investigates complaints of discrimination. For more information on the process, refer to the Procedure for Responding to Internal Complaints of Discrimination. Employees may also contact the university's Compliance and Policy Officer, who is the university's ADA/Rehabilitation Act Coordinator.

Handicapped Parking

Employees of the College requiring handicapped parking on a temporary basis should provide appropriate documentation from a certified doctor to this office, located in the Hornsby House at 336 Jamestown Road. Parking Services does not issue these passes to employees of the College. If you have a documented disability that exceeds six weeks, please contact the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles  to apply for a temporary or  permanent Disabled Parking Placard. Questions related to temporary handicapped parking should be directed to The Office of  Diversity & Equal Opportunity, at 757-221-2615.
