Make Your Own Commencement Video
The Office of the Vice President of Student Affairs is searching for creative William and Mary students to find exciting, interesting, and fun new ways of displaying important commencement information. We will provide the topics, you create the content.
Instructions
1. Make an appropriate video between 30 seconds and 2 minutes in length. Video topics are listed below.
2. Upload your video below (must have a YouTube account).
3. If your video is good, we will post it on our youtube channel. Excellent videos will be posted on the Commencement website and released through social media. Stellar videos will be played in W&M Hall in front of thousands of guests before the main ceremony begins!

- Student Speaker Competition (have something to say?) - Videos due Monday, Feb. 20
- Grad Finale (one-stop Commencement shop) - Videos due Monday, Feb. 27
- Commencement Mobile (stay informed) - Videos due Monday, March 12
- Tickets (when to pick them up) - Videos due Monday, March 19
- Bell Ringing Tradition (a brief history) - Videos due Monday, April 2
- Regalia (how to wear it, what to wear underneath) - Videos due Monday, April 9
Commencement Weekend Event Promo Trailers (30 second "commercials")
Create a promo for each of these events. All promo trailers are due by Monday, April 9
- Bell Ringing - Friday, April 27 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Wren Building)
- Senior Class Dance - Friday, May 11 at 9:00 p.m. (Sunken Garden Tent. Rain plan: Sadler Center, Chesapeake)
- Service of Celebration for the Graduates (previously called Baccalaureate) - Saturday, May 12 at 9:30 a.m. (W&M Hall)
- Family Picnic - Saturday, May 12 at 12:00 p.m. (Crim Dell Meadow. Rain plan: last names A-P go to Commons; last names Q-Z go to Center Court)
- Alumni Induction Ceremony - Saturday, May 12 at 2:00 p.m. (Sunken Garden Tent)
- Candelight Ceremony - Saturday, May 12 at 9:30 p.m. (Wren Yard. Rain plan: Sunken Garden Tent)
- Walk Across Campus - Sunday, May 13 at 10:15 a.m. (Gather in the Wren Yard)
- Main Commencement Ceremony - Sunday, May 13 - See timeline below
- 11:20 a.m. - All guests should be seated in anticipation of the Academic Procession.
- 11:30 a.m. - The Academic Procession begins. All Degree Candidates, Faculty, and the Official Party enter William & Mary Hall Arena dressed in full regalia.
- 12:00 p.m. - Commencement Exercises begin.
- Departmental Ceremonies - Sunday, May 13 at 2:30 p.m. (see schedule for locations)
