Assistant Professor of Physics

André Walker-Loud, Assistant Professor of Physics, received his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Washington, Seattle.  He has held postdoctoral research and fellow positions at the University of Maryland, College Park; William & Mary; and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, where he was a project scientist.  His areas of expertise and research interests include theoretical nuclear and hadronic physics, lattice quantum chromodynamics, and effective field theories applied to the structure and interactions of strongly-interacting particles.  Initially he will teach graduate-level nuclear and particle physics, followed by a wide range of courses in the undergraduate and graduate curricula.
