Hwisang Cho

Visiting Assistant Professor of History

Background

Hwisang Cho, Visiting Assistant Professor of History, received his Ph.D. degree in Korean history from Columbia University in 2010.  He specializes in the history of reading and writing and the political culture of Korea from the fifteenth to twentieth century.  Before coming to William & Mary, he held postdoctoral fellowships at both Harvard and Columbia, and taught East Asian history at Colby College.  At William & Mary, Professor Cho will offer survey courses on East Asia and other courses focusing on Korean history.
