Assistant Professor of Chemistry

Tyler Meldrum, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, received his Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of California at Berkeley, then held an appointment as Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Research Fellow at RWTH University in Aachen, Germany.  His areas of expertise include NMR methodologies, portable instrumentation and cultural heritage.  His research focuses on understanding material properties and chemical processes in cultural heritage applications (e.g., the curing of paint, effects of coatings on porous materials, conservation treatments) as well as the nondestructive profiling of objects of cultural heritage for characterization and preservation.
