Tom McSweeney

Professor of Law


Tom McSweeney received his B.A. from William & Mary in 2002, and will be returning to the College this fall to join the faculty of the Law School.  After leaving Williamsburg eleven years ago, Professor McSweeney went on to receive his J.D. and his Ph.D. in history from Cornell, and was a Visiting Assistant Professor of Law at Cornell Law School.  Professor McSweeney is a legal historian whose research focuses on the connections between the early common law and medieval civil law.  He received three teaching awards while at Cornell, and will teach Property and Trusts and Estates during the 2013-2014 academic year.
