
Background
Annie Blazer is a new Assistant Professor specializing in American Religious Traditions. She received her Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina and did a postdoc at the Center for the Study of Religion at Princeton University. Her research and teaching focus on evangelical Christianity and popular culture in America using anthropological methods. She completed her Ph.D. in Religion and Culture from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and has taught at Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi and Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana. Professor Blazer spent a year as a research fellow at Princeton University's Center for the Study of Religion. She is currently working on her first book, Faith on the Field: Sports, Gender, and Evangelical Christianity in America.
