About the Office
The Office of the Provost represents the core of the academic and research planning and administration at William & Mary. As the chief academic officer, the provost works in close collaboration with the deans of arts & sciences and the schools of business, education, law and marine science to advance the university’s mission and vision in teaching and learning, research and scholarship, and the recruitment, development and retention of faculty.
Provost Peggy Agouris
As Provost, Peggy Agouris is the chief academic officer of William & Mary. The provost, in accordance with policies established by the Board of Visitors, is responsible for all academic and research programs, academic budgets, institutional planning, space and resource allocation, and the recruitment, development and retention of faculty.
A New School at William & Mary
Building on existing strengths, a new school joining computer science, data science, applied science and physics positions William & Mary as a leader in the evolution of liberal arts and sciences.

The W&M&You text platform was started during COVID-19 to get a quick pulse from students on key topics. This tool is currently being reconfigured through Blackboard and is expected to be operational during the spring of 2024.
