L. Clifford Schroeder, Sr.
Mr. Schroeder received his B.S. (Magna Cum Laude) in economics in 1953 from Harvard College and his M.B.A. from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration in 1955.  Mr. Schroeder is chairman and chief executive officer of LCS Realty, LLC and President of Chronos, L.C. Ltd, a Richmond real estate investment company.  He is the former President of Dixie Container Corporation, and has been active in matters regarding natural resources.  Mr. Schroeder has served as a member and chair of the Board of Visitors and Governors of Washington College (Maryland), where he co-founded the Center for Environment and Society.  In 2001 he received a Doctorate of Public Service from Washington College.  In 2003, Mr. Schroeder and his wife, Lois, established the Schroeder Center for Health Policy as part of William and Mary’s Thomas Jefferson Program in Public Policy for the purpose of informing and educating current and future decision makers on a broad array of public policies related to healthcare and public health. Currently, Mr. Schroeder serves on the William and Mary Foundation Board, of which he is the immediate past president.  Mr. Schroeder served as a member of the Board of Visitors from 2000 to 2004.  During his tenure he was Chair of the Committee on Development and Alumni Affairs, and a member of the Richard Bland College Committee, the Committee on Financial Affairs, and served as Board liaison to the Virginia Institute of Marine Science. In 2008 Mr. Schroeder was elected an Honorary Alumnus by the Alumni Association in recognition of his longstanding support of William and Mary.  Mr. Schroeder was appointed to the Board of Visitors in 2010.
