Dennis Liberson

Mr. Liberson received his B.A. (Economics and Government) from the College of William and Mary in 1978 and his M.L.I.R. (Master of Labor and Industrial Relations) from Michigan State University in 1980.  In 2003, Mr. Liberson retired as Executive Vice President of Human Resources and Corporate Real Estate for Capital One Financial Corporation after a successful 23-year career.  He currently divides his time between his own business, Bolling Branch Mitigation Bank, LLC, engaged in stream and wetland mitigation banking, and serving as the Executive Chairman of DAN Holdings, Inc., the wholly owned for-profit subsidiary of the Divers Alert Network, Inc.  Mr. Liberson serves on the Virginia Institute of Marine Science Advisory Council and the Board of Directors of the Divers Alert Network, Inc.  He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Coral Reef Alliance and the Virginia Scenic Rivers Advisory Board.  Mr. Liberson has been a generous supporter of the College’s Environmental Science and Policy program and campus sustainability efforts.  Mr. Liberson was appointed to the Board of Visitors in 2009.  Currently, he serves as the Secretary of the Board.
