R. Philip Herget III

Mr. Herget received his B.A. from the University of Virginia and his MBA from Kenan-Flager Business School at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.  Mr. Herget joined Columbia Capital in 1992 and currently serves as a Managing General Partner.  In 1993, he joined Telular Corporation as its Chief Financial Officer where he led the company through an initial public offering, returning to Columbia in 1994.  Prior to joining Columbia Capital, Mr. Herget served in various financial management positions for Energy Service Company, Energy Insurance International, Marsh & McLennan, and Lloyd’s of London broker C.T. Bowring & Co. in London, England.  Mr. Herget is a member of the Board of Directors of Avail Media, Hatteras Networks, Hillcrest Laboratories and Imagine Communications.  He currently serves on the Board of Governors of St. Stephens and St. Agnes School, on the Board of Trustees of the University of Virginia College Foundation, and on the Board of Directors of the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association.  Mr. Herget was appointed to the Board of Visitors in 2004 and reappointed in 2008.  Currently he serves as Chair of the Committee on Development and Alumni Affairs, Vice Chair of the Committee on Administration, and is a member of the Executive Committee and the Committee on Financial Affairs.
