Sarah Gore

Mrs. Gore received a B.A. (English) from the College of William and Mary in 1956 and M.S. (guidance and counseling) from the University of Delaware in 1975. She retired as the global leader of the Human Resources group at W.L. Gore & Associates, Inc., a high-tech manufacturing company with nearly 45 plants worldwide. Mrs. Gore is a member of the Campaign for William and Mary Steering Committee and a Trustee Emeritus of the Endowment Association. From 1998 to 2002 she was a member of the School of Education Development Board and has been a member of the Leadership Task Force. In 1998, she received the Alumni Medallion from the Alumni Society. Mrs. Gore and her family created the I Have A Dream Foundation of Delaware, a program for disadvantaged youth for which she serves as a director. She currently serves on the Christiana Care and Winterthur Boards of Trustees, and on the Advisory Board of Independence School, as well as the Board of Directors for Planned Parenthood of Delaware. Mrs. Gore was appointed to the Board in 2003 and reappointed in 2007. Currently she serves as Chair of the Committee on Athletics, Vice Chair of the Richard Bland College Committee, and is a member of the Committee on Academic Affairs. |
