Ms. Flippin received her A.B (Government and Public Policy) from the College of William and Mary in 1992, and her M.A. (American Government) and J.D from the University of Virginia in 1996.  She is a partner in DLA Piper’s Litigation practice, based in Washington, DC.  Ms. Flippin focuses her practice on government investigations, corporate internal investigations and compliance, securities fraud and sophisticated civil litigation matters.  Prior to joining DLA Piper, she was a partner and chair of the Litigation Department in the Washington, DC office of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker.  Prior to joining Paul, Hastings, Ms. Flippin was a Special Assistant to the President at the White House, serving as a commissioned officer and handling homeland security matters.  She has also served as Deputy Assistant Attorney General at the U.S. Department of Justice, and as Clearance Counsel at the White House.  Ms. Flippin is the former chair of the Board of Directors of the Fund for William and Mary, and has served as the Reunion Chair and Reunion Gift Chair for the Class of 1992 5th and 10th Reunions.  She is also a former member of the Young Guarde Council.  Ms. Flippin was appointed to the Board of Visitors in 2010.
