Ms. Brashear received a B.A. magna cum laude (Government, Philosophy and French) from the College of William and Mary in 1982 and her MBA from Harvard University in 1987. In 2007 she joined Sanford Bernstein as Vice President/Senior Analyst for U.S. Gaming, Lodging, and Leisure. From 1987 to 1999 she was Executive Vice President – Strategy of Marriott International. Following a planned sabbatical for consulting and project work, Ms. Brashear was Executive Vice-President, Strategic Planning for AMERIGROUP Corporation from 2004 to 2007. In 2005 she was awarded the Women in Business Achievement Award by Inside Business. Ms. Brashear is a former member of the Board of Trustees of The Langley School as well as a former Trustee of the William and Mary School of Business. She served on The Fund for William & Mary Board, her 20th Reunion Gift Committee and as Class Agent. Ms. Brashear was appointed to the Board of Visitors in 2004 and reappointed in 2008. She is a past Secretary to the Board.
