Ann Baise

Ms. Baise is Treasurer of Baise Farms, an 800-acre corn and soybean operation in Illinois and Vermont as well as timber in Virginia. She earned her B.S. in elementary education from Longwood College in 1974 and her Master of Arts in Education from Virginia Tech in 1978. In 1989, Ms. Baise was awarded Longwood University's Distinguished Alumni Community Service Award. Ms. Baise served two terms on the Board of Visitors at her alma mater, from 1996 to 2004. While on the Longwood Board, she was elected three times as Rector. She also served as chair of the Academic and Student Affairs Committee and Chair of the Nominating Committee. An elementary school teacher in Fairfax County Public Schools, she later worked as an educator and program director of the district’s gifted and talented programs. She has also served as a consultant to the National Geographic Society and the National Wildlife Federation. Ms. Baise was appointed to the Fairfax County Commission for Women, serving from 1996 to 2003. In 2000 and 2002, she was named the Columbia Hospital for Women Volunteer of the Year. Ms. Baise was initiated as a member of William and Mary's chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa, National Leadership Honor Society, on October 25, 2013. Ms. Baise was appointed to the Board of Visitors in 2012.
