Kendrick F. Ashton, Jr. '98

Kendrick F. Ashton, Jr. Mr. Ashton earned his B.A. in International Relations (Political Economics) from William & Mary in 1998. During his time at William & Mary, Mr. Ashton was an all-conference performer on the university’s varsity football team and was the recipient of the prestigious John Kratzer Memorial Award for Exemplary Courage, Self-Sacrifice, Leadership and Spirit as well as the Benjamin Stoddart Ewell Award in recognition of his campus leadership and academics. He earned his J.D. and M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, where he was a merit scholar and the Earl Dickerson Public Service Scholar. Mr. Ashton is a founding member of the financial services firm, Perella Weinberg Partners, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions in the telecom and technology sectors. In 2013 Mr. Ashton left Perella Weinberg and co-founded The St. James Group LLC, a sports and wellness complex development group. Mr. Ashton served as a member of the William & Mary Foundation Board of Trustees from 2006 to 2012, and was elected a trustee emeritus in 2012. In 2008, Mr. Ashton served as chair of the reunion committee for the Class of 1998 and was awarded the Young Alumni Service Award. Prior to joining Perella Weinberg Partners, Mr. Ashton was an investment banker at Goldman, Sachs & Co. He gained legal experience at the law firms of Cravath, Swaine & Moore and Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz.  Mr. Ashton was appointed to the Board of Visitors in 2012.
